We started Project-Green in 2005 to foster a company culture of environmental responsibility. Over time, it has evolved from the passion of our founder and a committee of fervent employees into a company-wide, collaborative effort. Our team, our partners and our clients are empowered to participate and make suggestions for improvement.

WORKING WITH ECO-LEADERSWORKING WITH ECO-LEADERS

Sustainability MattersWe were founded on the principles of environmental stewardship and are invested in improving the impacts of our design, cultivation, weaving, finishing and end-of-life processes. Because we recognize that we are far from being experts, we surround ourselves with environmental leaders who facilitate our efforts and help us on our journey. Environmental leaders such as The Natural Step Network and the University of Oregon, along with top environmental designer clients not only help to shape our environmental perspective, but also continue to drive us to remove waste and inefficiencies from our business model. Sometimes the hard questions that we receive from these partners challenge us to the core, but we always appreciate the growth we achieve because of this. We view our environmental activism as a journey, not a destination.

TAKE-BACK INITIATIVETAKE-BACK INITIATIVE

Through our Take-Back® Initiative, we reclaim our used window coverings and samples in an effort to responsibly manage their end-of-life. Any shades that are fit to be reused are repaired and donated to the ReBuilding Center of Portland, Oregon. Those that cannot be reused are disassembled and the majority of the fabric and components are recycled. Learn more at our Take-Back page.
