Many Hands
Mon, 2009-08-17 09:47
We share with our designer clients that our products are made by hand…many hands. We tell this story because our window coverings have a heritage, a story, and a past.
We collect stories of people and places during our travels and do our best to pass them a long. These stories are a great source of inspiration, pushing us to continue on seeking and creating natural window coverings of incomparable design and quality.
This week, our design team traveling in Asia met with families that have passed down the techniques of handweaving natural fibers for generations. These master weavers learned the art of handweaving from their grandparents, who of course learned it from their grandparents. Handweaving in Asia has persevered thousands of years, and because of these artisans it will continue for thousands more. And to that, we are so very thankful.
