Hartmann & Forbes Launches New ErtheWeave Collection
Earth-conscious Collection Features Hand-tailored Natural Cottons, Linens, Silks and Wool
Tualatin, OR (April, 2007) Hartmann & Forbes, fabricator of sustainable handcrafted window coverings, announces the launch of the ErtheWeave Collection, the company's first line of textile window coverings. The European-inspired collection includes more than 70 natural textiles with more than one third being handwoven.
"Handcrafting natural textiles is the logical next step for Hartmann & Forbes," said Michael Jones, Hartmann & Forbes' founder and CEO. "We searched exhaustively throughout Europe for the finest natural materials and wove them into a collection that will provide designers with high-end, environmental sensitivity they won't find anywhere else."
The ErtheWeave Collection captures the texture and artistry of Old World fabrics ranging from provincial European wools and cottons to refined linens, elegant handwoven Asian silks and woven bamboo. These natural fibers are woven into textiles retaining one-of-a-kind subtleties and the random patterns of traditional weaves. Artisans in Hartmann & Forbes' Northwest finishing facility handcraft these textiles into original, ErtheWeave window coverings.
In creation of the Ertheweave Collection, Hartmann & Forbes also expanded its workroom capabilities. Textile roman shades can be handtailored into six new styles, draperies into four new styles, and cornice and valance top treatments into five new styles, and into 3 PanelScreen styles. Each window covering is luxuriously finished to the finest detail, including pillowcased lining, hand wrapped head rails, hand braided pull cords, and custom banding, innerlining and styling. Custom and comprehensive motorization solutions are available for luxury operation.
Saxon Hardware Collection
To compliment the ErtheWeave Collection, Hartmann & Forbes is also launching a line of hand sculpted drapery hardware. The German engineered and constructed hardware is available in seven wood styles and six metal styles, marrying traditional style with contemporary design. Each system is sold in sets for ease of ordering.
