Hartmann & Forbes introduces two new lines of edge binding
New Twill and Belgian-Suede™ edge binding offer a sophisticated look

Tualatin, OR (April 2005) — Hartmann and Forbes has introduced a line of twill edge binding and Belgian-Suede™ edge binding to its line of window covering trim. Each new edge binding is available as roman shade and PanelScreen™ sides and bottom hem, valance hems and as a skirt hem on the industry's only handwoven draperies. The bindings also add contrast and an added design element to Hartmann & Forbes' ColourWeave Collection - the industry's only handpainted bamboo shades. With these additions, Hartmann & Forbes offers more than 40 trim and edge bindings.

"We first worked with twill and suede edge binding on a custom project," said founder Mike Jones. "We loved how it accentuated the richness of the natural materials so we decided to make it available to all designers." Jones says the company is in tune with its designer customer base, and many of its new products are in response to their creative use of their shades.

In addition to the trim and edge bindings, Hartmann & Forbes also offers 15 variations of woven and braided raffia, as well as the ability to apply customers' own material for a truly personalized look.

Twill Edge Binding
The 100% cotton twill edge binding is carefully hand sewn to shade sides to add a new element to the window coverings. Available in 13 natural colors, it finishes the window coverings edge and is recommended for heavy use applications. Twill edge binding comes standard on Hartmann & Forbes PanelScreen™ system.

Belgian-Suede™ Edge Binding
The soft matte finish of Belgian-Suede™ edge binding adds a luxurious finish to Hartmann & Forbes' handwoven window coverings. The 100% polyester edge binding comes in 12 earth-tone colors and can be hand sewn to window covering sides and bottom hem. The width of the binding comes standard at one inch but can be specified as a custom size.

Customer's Own Material
As always, Hartmann & Forbes is able to bind the edges of its window coverings with customer's own materials. Artisans in the Northwest finishing facility strip the provided fabric and hand sew the custom edge binding to the handwoven window coverings allowing for coordination with other pieces in a room.
