Hartmann & Forbes introduces ColourWeave™ Collection
Industry's first handpainted, handwoven bamboo roman shades, draperies and PanelScreen™ offered in 44 modern colors for today's interiors.

Wilsonville, OR (January 2005) — Handwoven window covering manufacturer Hartmann & Forbes continues to push the boundaries of design by introducing the industry's first full line of handpainted, handwoven bamboo window coverings. The new ColourWeave— Collection offers 44 colors that reflect the broad palette of today's interiors. Ranging from the richness of Brown Stone, to the soothing green of Morning Mist and to vibrant metallics, the collection provides designers the ability to work with today's hottest colors, and even create custom shade colors of their own.

"We've received tremendous interest in the ColourWeave™ Collection thus far. Designers are telling us that they are tired of basic neutrals and want to use more color in the window, in addition to wanting more flexibility to customize their window coverings," said Michael Jones, company founder. "Hartman & Forbes is pleased to offer products that are relevant to the needs of today's designers while not placing limitations on their creativity."

The ColourWeave™ Collection includes 10 earth tones, 10 earth neutrals, 10 pastels, nine vibrant and five sophisticated metallics. They are grouped into 11 color palettes including Essence, Meditation, Enchanted, Mineral, Harmony, Serenity, Sophisticate, Euphoria, Calm, Natural Energy and Metallic. An eggshell sheen is standard, although a glossy diamond finish can be applied. For added distinction, designers can order custom stripes, available in two alternating colors.

Handpainted in Portland, OR, the ColourWeave™ Collection is available in Hartmann & Forbes' traditional and old-style handwoven roman shades, their exclusive handwoven draperies and their new handwoven PanelScreen™. Each color is available in widths of up to 144 inches.

"It's exciting to develop a more modern version of a very traditional shade making process," said Jones. "These new colors range from soothing to striking and meet the expanding needs and tastes of today's designers."

With the addition of the ColourWeave Collection, Hartmann & Forbes offers nearly 150 different weaves for its roman shades, draperies and PanelScreen™ designs. Hartmann & Forbes' shades are handwoven by craftsmen overseas and then custom finished by local artisans in the Pacific Northwest to each client's specifications. Liner fabrics can be hand-sewn to the back of each shade, drapery or Panelscreen™ to add privacy while preserving a neutral appearance from the exterior. Blackout and translucent liners are available in soft white, linen and khaki.

For each of its weaves, Hartmann & Forbes uses organic materials grown and harvested exclusively from well-managed eco-systems in a way that preserves the environment.
