Hartmann & Forbes adds nine new weaves to its Traditional Handwoven Collection
Natural grasses highlight the new offering

Tualatin, OR (April 2005) — Hartmann & Forbes has introduced nine new weaves to its Traditional Handwoven Collection. The selection includes weaves handcrafted of sea grasses, jutes, river reeds and bamboo. With the addition of these new patterns, Hartmann & Forbes now offers nearly 150 different weaves for its lines of roman shade, exclusive PanelScreen™ and the industry's only handwoven draperies.

"We're excited to introduce these new weaves to our collection and provide the interior design community with an ever-expanding array of patterns, materials and colors," said founder Mike Jones. "These new weaves provide textures not available elsewhere in the industry."

Seven of the nine new weaves feature natural grasses that are organically cured to provide natural color ways; three of which are interwoven with river reeds for additional texture. The two remaining new weaves are made from hand-splintered bamboo which is cured in traditional fashion to offer a time-honored, organic look.

Hartmann & Forbes' window coverings are handwoven by craftsmen overseas and then custom finished by local artisans in the Pacific Northwest to each designer's specifications. Liner fabrics can be hand-sewn to the back of each shade, drapery or Panelscreen™ to add privacy preserving a neutral appearance from the exterior. Blackout and translucent liners are available in soft white, linen and khaki. In addition, an expanded line of edge binding and trim is available to add a luxurious finish to the window coverings. Customer's own material can hand sewn to the window coverings as liner, or can be stripped and hand sewn as trim or edge binding.

For each of its weaves, Hartmann & Forbes uses organic materials grown and harvested exclusively from well-managed, sustainable eco-systems in a way that preserves the environment.
